After letting his front clip PPF cure for 2 weeks and letting the installer do their final inspection, He was able to wash & “wax” his R1T for the first time. He's pretty consistent in paint care, and keeps his R1T garaged, so heopted out of professional ceramic coating and went with Griot’s Garage 3 in 1 Ceramic Spray wax after its first bath.
I've been looking for a waxing solution myself and I think he just gave me a great idea. So be did one coat on everything but the windows, and kept it in the garage to then do another coat after 12-24 hours as suggested. The process couldn’t be easier, and he said there was zero buildup or streaking during coatings. The slickness and shine are like nothing I’ve experienced, and for $20 he had enough to repeat 20 times if necessary. It’s highly doubtful if it will last like a $300-$500 coating from professionals, but for the money and effort, I am overly impressed.
Pictures never do it justice, but I feel like this is a cheap and easy solution that will help keep the paint in mirror condition. You can even use the spray when drying post wash if you feel like it’s starting to break down. If you get satisfaction by taking care of your own car, and don’t mind a little Karate Kid training, I recommend trying this product. For the windows, he used Griot’s Garage Ceramic Window Cleaner spray. Another easy to use product, and we’ll see how it works in unison with the wax. Rather than carrying out a $300-$500 coating for my next PPF appointment, I think I'll give this a try and see how well it works out for my R1T.
