I ran into an issue with the paint on my Rivian’s door handles and the plastic near the steering wheel—it was scratching off way too easily. I filed a claim with Rivian, but they turned it down and said fixing it would cost about $1,000.

I’m not sure if I got a bad batch of paint or if the protectant I used (Meguiar’s) made it worse. Either way, I found a spray paint that matches the dark interior color perfectly—not just close, but spot-on. It’s called MTN RV-7016 Anthracite Grey matte.

Fixing it took some work: sanding to smooth the edges and taping off areas carefully.

But the results? Excellent. I took a video showing how the paint scratches off with just my fingernail. The worst scratches were ones I made on purpose to strip off as much as I could before repainting.

Anyone interested, can get the paint at sprayplanet.com.
