While driving yesterday, I went over some bumps and I heard an odd metal on metal rattle. Almost like chains dangling. I freaked out, researched what it could be and freaked out some more.

I took the car out over an intentionally bumpy trail, heard it again and with the suspension fully jacked up, looked around. I found this hanging from the front passenger side upper control arm. Just dangling around…it wasn’t attached to anything, literally just loosely hanging off the horseshoe shaped arm.

Does this make any sense? This can’t be part of the suspension. I’m checking to see if my camera captured anyone messing with the car because that’s the only explanation I can come up with. Please let me know if I’m missing something!

This is a tool to hang the brake caliper while working on other wheel components. Probably left accidentally when they were performing last minute checks prior to delivery/pickup or maybe if you recently visited the SC. I’ve seen it happen before to other owners. Keep it or toss it.
