Was reminiscing on some of the previous R2/R3 promotional material and remembered some of the cool additions to software advertised (ultra dark mode, better nav UI, etc) and shown in the R2/R3 demos (obviously closed environments but by the looks of it fully prototyped solutions). Any info out there about when these QoL updates come out in the OTA pipeline? Or does Rivian wanna wait until R2 launch to entice as many vehicle upgrades as possible before significant software improvements fleet-wide?
Personally, I'm thinking it'll land in the window between Rivian Announcing when R2 orders open, and when R2 Orders first ship. There's probably a lot of work left in building the backend where it's more important to get things correct before sending out the newer public interface. A pretty interface with QoL updates won't be entirely useful if buttons don't function properly. If we pay attention to the software released between now and the R2 launch we'll probably see some or all of these updates, just iterated in without the new interface.
