I met a new R1S 2025 owner (2 months in). Three times now, her Alexa kept saying unable to find standard addresses that she could easily map to using her iPhone.
Also, if she tries to give a verbal command to navigate “Home” Alexa says unable to find the address in spite of it being programmed. She could click the star on the screen and then “Go” to the saved address that pops up, but it is something she should be able to do hands free as a safety issue, so she feels.
Reaching out to me, I told her it's only a safety issue if she chooses to drive unsafely. If voice commands aren't working, you can pull over and manually input your address.
To the larger point, it is an issue that shouldn't exist. Phone navigation systems figured this out decades ago. The only excuse is that Alexa has actually not been the best AI. I heard Rivian is working on its in-house AI that, among other things, should replace Alexa with a smarter and more effective voice control system. I also told her to try out a simple reset, that might fix the issue.
