2 days ago, I was with a friend and he opened his powered tonneau, put some stuff in the bed, and pressed close. It went about a foot and then reversed itself. He dry lubes his tracks regularly and, upon checking, we found they were free of any debris. Yet, the failing continued. Our initial thought was perhaps the cover was misaligned, but at least to our naked eye, it was not.

So I told him to try pressing the tonneau button 3 times then holding on the 4th time. This made it go through a calibration sequence that forced it to close all the way. After that we did a soft reset and everything started working fine.

If anyone has encoubtered such, you can try out this solution and if 3 times then hold on 4th doesn’t work for you, try 2 times then hold on 3rd. And don’t wait a long time between button presses.
