Stumbled into this YouTube video from the 2024 Unreal Engine conference. It provides great insights into Rivian's unique UX design, compute hardware for the infotainment system, rendering drive modes and driver display, the software stack and dev process, as well of the talented team of experts pulling this off. I found this to be incredibly informative and you can watch the video via the YouTube link below.
Despite the fact that I enjoyed watching the video, the only slight issue I have is that the system was faster prior to the relatively recent animations being added. I write this strictly as a user, with no much software tech background. My impression is also that screen sensitivity has gotten a bit worse recently, with a much firmer touch required, again simply a user observation. From my perspective, neither issue is much more than a moderate annoyance though. Would love to see if there would be major improvements this year.
