My friend who drives the 2022 R1T and already with his 3rd windshield, experienced a crack from tiny impacts which seems to have caused an irrepairable damage. It's not the first time he's experiencing such as one of the impacts he experienced, he was able to temporarily ‘fix’ with a kit.
I'm dropping this thread here cause I feel like maybe it's not normal or probably it's just him having some bad luck. He spent 2k on previous fixes and he feels like he can use that money to do something else which I totally agree with him.
During his last road trip going 70mph, it was probably a rice grain that hit his windshield and the next day there was a 6+ inch crack. Doesn't seem normal, that in 2 1/2 years all 4 very minor impacts caused windshield failure.
I told him to go to his SC and lay a complaint again but he thinks Rivian is going to gas light him again and say there’s nothing wrong with the glass or how it fits on the truck. He's already thinking of letting go of the truck which I'm hoping won't happen.
In the pic you’ll see the impact is less than 1/16” and barely made a mark.
