I've been looking at different awning options lately and thought about mounting my awning to my new rack. My aim is to mount it on the passenger side but this was the best picture I had to illustrate what I want to do. The rack crossbars are only 36” apart.
I would like to mount a 270 degree awning (blue rectangle) that goes around the rear of the truck. They recommend a mount as close to the 270 hinge as possible. I was thinking of getting another piece of extrusion and mounting it to the bottom of the tent at the very back using the tent rails as shown in the picture (red rectangle). Any issues with doing this?
