I was originally using the stock Rivian cargo bars with my Roofnest Condor XL, but wanted to get the tent higher so that I can use our annex and be able to shift it further forward. The original Range Industries Mariner rack sits even with cargo bars if you have them on the roof, 23.1” from the bed rails. I wanted to keep that option for other things but wanted the tent to be closer to the roof, so I bought some extra extrusion and have it 18 7/8” above the bed rails.
This gives about 1/4” clearance to the rooftop spoiler from the bottom of the tent and just barely fits in and out of my garage (the top rubs on the rubber weather seal on lowest suspension height and with the tires aired down a bit). Overall I am happy with it, and will work on getting my awning mounted to the rack too so I won’t need the roof bars at all.
I think I might shift the tent an inch or so rearward so it that I get a little more clearance to the spoiler for vibration and flex. I also picked up a set of Vanultra Quick Release mounts. They seem well built and make it easy to take the tent on and off. I figure I will probably just leave the rack on all or most of spring-fall.
