So I found out that the tirst two RAN site conversions have taken place in North Carolina. Now, all EVs with CCS can charge up in Charlotte and Henderson (if they're willing to pay that much). Found out via a tweet from Rivian's official X page.

For those who have no idea about the RAN 1.5, it's Rivian's next-generation charging dispensers that is designed to be open to all EVs. It was designed with a 900-volt electrical architecture and native CCS connectors for super fast charging. Heard adapters would be available for vehicles with North American Charging Standard ports.

The new RAN 1.5 would consist of features such as

• Open Network:

• Next-Generation Chargers:

• 900-Volt Architecture:

• CCS Connectors:

• Adapters for NACS:

• Increased Availability:

I believe the main reason for the design of the RAN 1.5 chargers is to mainly focus on ease of use and accessibility for all EV drivers and not just Rivian drivers.
