This is an old issue but still wanted to share a “known issue” story in case others run into to.

So apparently, there is a recurring issue with an improperly torqued hub bolt on R1S vehicles. Sounds similar to issues seen in connection with CV axle clunking. Mine occurred on front driver side. A grinding noise suddenly appeared when turning left. The improperly torqued bolt loosened enough to cause damage to brake rotor and pad and hub (all of which needed to be replaced) within 15 miles. Mine has been fixed some months back and it hasn't occurred again.

An additional information, R1S uses about 2 kW per mile in deep sand mode on highest suspension setting when driving in sand on the beach and moderately loaded.
