So this is something that occured way back during the winter holiday season. I had what I did consider back then as a weird issue.

Background: On that particular day, we had a couple of inches of snow and just as always I ignored it as there was so little. This results in the snow packing down and then turning to ice where it has been driven on. Since I always park in roughly the same area there ends up being a decent size sheet of thin ice. The driveway is flat from the street about 2/3 of the way and then slopes up very slightly (think 2-3 degrees). This has been consistent for a few years.

The issue: That day when I came home I parked as always and went inside. When I went out a couple of hours later I found the car had slid down my driveway around 15 feet towards the road. There was no danger of it sliding into the road because of the layout of the driveway but it was still concerning cause it has never been an issue with any previous vehicles.

My theory: The R1S is by far the heaviest vehicle I have owned. I think it’s weight and the ambient air temperature was what combined to melt a thin layer of water on the ice between the tire and ice which then caused the vehicle to slide slowly. I tried pushing on the vehicle when I saw it had moved but nothing happened (not shocking, I wasn’t trying hard and was on a sheet of ice).

Has anyone else had this issue? Obviously since I had that issue, I do clear the driveway more at least where I park but back then, it seemed like a weird problem to me.
