- 2024 R1T
In one month it would have been 4 years as a preorder holder. I watched as my initial spec of a Yellow R1T with quad max and camp kitchen slowly dwindled away, but when the free matte wraps appeared on the store I pulled the trigger!

I negotiated for the truck to be delivered to my house - which was really nice and convenient rather than driving 30 mins with wife and baby to the service center.
Getting there, I realized that the wrap really pops on el cap! It’s the type that ends just short of the panel edge and doesn’t wrap around it. I did find a hair lodged in the wrap! (ew) but they said they would fix and finish items within a year which they did and it was a nice surprise for me I must say.

One thing I love about Rivian, is all the “accessories” you get on delivery, when you add it all up between the air compressor hoses bag and the first aid kid and gear guard cable and charger.
When I got my R1T, I immediately took the wheel covers off and put the emblems on. Of course we did what these trucks mainly do which was a costco run haha

First Impressions:
1. I really loved the walk through and key/profile setup process and the UI. Back then, I initially thought they might come with a wrist key but i guess that was just launch ed?
2. The go pedal was way too hard to depress on max regen. I do enjoy strong regen, just not when it interferes with acceleration tho.
3. From the go, I realized I would prefer the 22” sport rims for better corner carving.

We haven't gone on for of family adventures ever since we got the R1T so this year, we're making plans to go on a trip. Probably just us or maybe with a couple of Rivian friends around. Find some good spots to camp or bike and just basically have a really good time with family and friends. I think this would be at the top of my bucket list this summer.
