R1S Trailer Range Estimate a bit Far Off

After my friend’s dog got out of his locked Rivian last week, I decided to check why it happened. I was surprised to discover that the driver’s door window buttons can roll down any window, even with the Window Lock on, which only stops the three passenger window switches from working. Pet Comfort Mode doesn’t block this either. If a pet steps on those driver’s controls, it can open a window and escape. Finding out a locked car isn’t fully pet-proof was a real surprise. I have since reached out to Rivian, asking for a fix to lock the driver’s window controls when Pet Comfort Mode is on. It’s worrying that a pet can accidentally open a window in a locked vehicle. I’m hoping they’ll add a software update to keep all windows secure. I’d love to know if anyone has found a way to prevent such incident or probably dealt with something similar.

I meant to post this last week but got sidetracked. Two weeks ago, while towing a trailer with my Rivian R1S, I saw an efficiency of 0.94 mi/kWh, but the display showed 233 miles of range at 100% charge. That math implies a 248 kWh battery, which seems off since the battery is 142 kWh. That would mean the real range is closer to 133 miles. I was surprised by the big difference in the estimate. It felt confusing and could make trip planning tricky.

I’ve seen slightly optimistic range estimates without a trailer, but nothing this far off. I’m thinking it might just be a simple mistake in the system’s calculations. Has anyone else noticed something similar while towing? I’d love to hear your thoughts or if you think it’s just a small glitch that needs fixing.
