For over a week, I've been working to get Apple CarPlay and Android working on my Rivian center display. I'm happy to announce that I recently stumbled on a video that cracked the code, and currently trying to bring this functionality to all Rivian owners. I came across a video where a Rivian owner created an Android-based hardware device called "EV Play".
While using it, he realized that EV Play could be a lot more than just CarPlay and Android Auto. The Rivian screen and sound system are amazing, and this could quickly be morphed into a full-blown infotainment system.
At the end of the day, I know he certainly does not have all the answers. And so in addition to the physical device he says he'd would love to eventually build a community where owners can discuss new ideas and propose new features. Which I think is a great idea.
There are still a few bugs to work out, but I'm sure he's pretty close to getting them resolved. Here's a link to the video in case anyone is interested.
