Winter happens to be my favorite season of the year, and as we are fast approaching the winter season, it's important for drivers to know if their R1S is built for the season and how best to get prepared for it. So as we start seeing the drop in temperature and snowflakes start to fall, it is important to prepare your R1S for winter driving. Having an advanced All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system and its pretty impressive ground clearance, the R1S has been equipped to handle harsh winter conditions. Nonetheless, properly maintaining your vehicle and driving safe at all times are very important to ensure an enjoyable driving experience.

Pre-Winter Checklist

There are a few things to note before setting out for your winter trip. Such as tire choice, tire pressure, battery maintenance, fluid checks, and lighting. Making sure all these are in good condition would ensure a smoother winter driving experience.

Driving Tips

Some driving tips to note for safety purposes include adjusting speed to road conditions. Knowing when to slow down so as to adjust to the condition of the road. Try as much to leave enough space between yourself and other vehicles both in front and on your rear. R1S comes with snow mode, so engage snow mode to adjust your throttle response, stability control, and traction control too. These are a few but vital driving tips on how to drive in a snowy condition.

Rivian R1S Winter Features

Rivian R1S comes with some winter features, which include all-wheel drive (AWD), snow mode, ground and clearance, and wade sensing (this detects water depth and alerts the driver). All these features are put in place to enable drivers to have a good time out while driving in the snow, bearing in mind that their vehicle is safe and in the best condition for the weather.

Additional Safety Considerations

Some additional safety considerations include having an emergency kit at all times, doing well to check the weather and be sure it won't get worse before going out, charging your battery sufficiently to be able to cover enough range, and most importantly, using winter driving mode to enable features like traction control and stability control.

I love driving in the snow, as it's my favorite season. It's not the safest period to go for a drive, that's for sure, but with proper preparation and caution, your R1S can easily navigate harsh winter conditions safely and efficiently. Take advantage of the advanced features on the R1S, and never forget to always drive safe and be vigilant at all times too.
