The other day, I saw a driver complaining about how he's finally gone past the "damp cloth is fine" phase, as his OC driver seat is starting to show signs of filth after 22k miles and a lot of camping/biking/surfing trips.
I actually felt kind of shocked it took him this long before he finally noticed any discoloration. I was able to recommend a few cleaning tips and products for him and felt I should drop them here as well just in case anyone out there is also looking for good seat cleaning products to use.
Personally, I much prefer to do a long and tedious job once that lasts "forever" as opposed to having to do something every month. The high quality ceramics do that. I usually clean all of the polyurethane parts top to bottom. Everything; dash, seats, pillars, console, all of it. Then I coat it all with Chemical Guys ceramic for plastics. Makes it super repellent to everything. Looks great; might not be shiny, but has a sheen that is really subtle and awesome.

It takes hours, and well worth it. I use the "disposable" mini microfibers from O'Reilly. They have a 100-pack of small ones for $30 or so, and I don't feel bad about tossing them after polluting them with such chemicals. Which won't wash out, and you wouldn't want that in your washer at all anyway. You can get the Meguiar's cleaning kit from Amazon using the photo below as reference.
