I drive a Gen 1 Rivian R1S and tried using Starlink inside it. I tested it under the panoramic roof, by the rear glass, and other spots. No matter where I placed it, Starlink couldn’t connect to satellites. It just kept saying “trying to locate satellites,” even with a clear view of the sky and the car parked.

I’m not sure if Rivian’s glass has a metal layer or some coating blocking the signal. If you’re thinking about using Starlink inside your Rivian, it won’t work. Probably you’ll need to mount it outside for a reliable connection. Haven't tried that yet but I plan on doing so this weekend. I'd update this thread with my findings once I've been able to do that.
