I feel kinda silly because it seems like it should be such an easy thing, but I could use some tips to get the Brain Exploder tow hook mount on. It won’t seat over the top of the tow hook, even if I push down hard on it. I sent an email to the company and they’ve been very responsive, but have just advised to use more force.

They also said to use the screw to get the clamp to close, but I can’t get it closed enough for the screw threads to engage. It hits the lower part of the clamp at an angle so the threads don’t catch, even with me trying to squeeze it shut while turning the screw.

I get that it’s supposed to be a snug fit to stop it from rotating, but it’s a D shape so rotation really shouldn’t be an issue that would require a crazy amount of force to get the upper half of the clamp to seat. I’d appreciate any tips or tricks because it seems like it shouldn’t be this hard.
