I was at Discount Tire earlier this week, which has serviced the Rivian for the first two 5-tire rotations.
Since my last visit, I have added 2,073 miles to my R1S since that update, for a total of over 25,234 miles as I pulled into the Discount Tire.
Per Keith (Discount Tire), my left side is still at 9/32 and my rights are still at 7/32. I am even more convinced now that I can do over 50,000 miles.
So I just wanted to share some quick tips on how to prevent tire wear on your tires to help for longer use.
1. Rotate your tires on a semi-frequent basis. My first rotation was 9,000, and our second was after 17,600 miles. We are 7,406 miles since our last rotation. I plan to schedule my next 5-tire rotation in 2-3 weeks.
2. Ride around in AP Standard as much as possible.
3. PSI. Ensure you are maintaining 48 PSI cold.
4. Try a 5-tire rotation if you have a spare. I think that has made a big difference.
5. Only use Conserve in Standard ride height. Anything lower than Standard will create negative camber and produce inside wear of your tires.
6. If you don’t want tire wear, drive your R1S like my friend Vicky, who has less than 327 miles after 11 months of ownership.
With these few tips, I can guarantee you that your tires will last longer and not wear out easily. Which would save you the cost of getting a new tire anytime soon.
