So about 2 days ago I noticed some woodchuck shaped chew marks on my charging cable. I live in a heavily wooded area with many critters. The cable still works for now, but seems like an electrical hazard waiting to happen.
I called, and emailed, and chatted with Rivian several times asking if they have a solution that isn’t me just buying another whole charger for $800. They said they’ll get back to me or I just buy a new wall charger. I can’t believe that there’s no way to just change out the charging cable.
Now to my question(s):
1. Has anyone had similar issues with Rivian customer service? Any tips or tricks?
2. Rivian says they don’t have the cable separately and that’s why they can’t help.
3. Anyone have ideas on how to replace the cable without spending $800 (yes I’m working on better protecting the wall charger from critters, including humanely capturing and relocating the offending woodchuck).
