This past Sunday, I went to run to the local Home Depot at about 10am and upon entering the truck for the first time that day I put it in reverse (without issue) and got the 12v battery warning. My initial thought was "Ahh dammit!"
I quickly logged the event and called CS. I got Jay from Rivian CS on the phone, we did a reboot and 30min sleep on the truck initially. This did not resolve the issue. I was at 30ish% SOC so he asked that I plug it in and charge it up to 70% and again let it sleep if I'm able to avoid driving it.
He called me back in 30mins and said they looked at my diagnostic logs and nothing appeared abnormal. Surprising... In running through scenarios I recalled that the previous day I had a friend's dog in the truck with her leash buckled in the rear seat belt latch for about 6hrs during the day while not driving the truck. He said go ahead and drive it as normal and report back.
I let it sleep again that evening, woke up to the same fault Monday morning and commuted 150 miles to my office and then back home. The error was there the entire time, leaving me a bit nervous to get stranded far from home.
Upon returning home later that day, I again turned off the Wi-Fi, turned off the Bluetooth and locked the truck with the key card and left it to sit off of the charger overnight since it was at 64% SOC.
Thankfully Tuesday morning I awoke to find the error has cleared itself and we are good again!
Too bad, on my commute to the office on Tuesday morning I got a nice rock chip in the windshield and now I'm waiting on Safe Light Auto Glass to come and seal it up to prevent spreading...
