If it’s helpful to anyone else with the R1S and a couple pups: I’ve been looking for a good travel crate solution for our dogs. I’d seen a post somewhere else with a recommendation but was looking for something more robust than the clamshell style that could also be used as individual crates if needed.

I landed on these two RuffLand SUV kennels, “intermediate” size with a slant back. Fits beautifully with the seats angled and still gives full access to rear floor storage.

They also sell these brackets that secure them to one another and I used the cargo hooks to strap them down. I just need to find a hook or something for each upper corner to ensure the strap can’t slip off. I’ll update when I figure that out (didn’t want to use their tie-downs).
