I figured I'd share this as an FYI, something to keep an eye on. I guess some would say it's a potential safety issue on the driver side.

I was poking around trying to figure out where the heat comes from when the vehicle is charging in the garage (seems like under the passenger seat), and I noticed the floor mat on the passenger side was not secured to the floor any more.

This plastic cap was just sitting on top, looking a bit mangled on the underside.

It looks like the two pieces of plastic just sandwich around the mat, but somebody didn't do a great job lining them up. I was able to get the top cap to seat properly in the floor mat, but I couldn't get it to actually retain to the bottom piece.

I already placed an order for new all-weather floor mats, so I may just hit this with some glue before I throw it on a shelf, where it will probably stay for years but I will still do my part and submit a ticket.
