The side mirror of the R1S is important and set to auto-fold whenever it is parked. Same way it repositions whenever opened to drive. If the mirror doesn't respond to adjustment controls. It should be quickly checked. It's better to keep the auto-folding on rather than manually push the mirror into place.

To fix a damaged mirror, you only have to access the damage if it requires complete replacement or you can easily check the screws to tighten them if they feel lose. You can easily consult the Rivian owners manual or contact a Rivian support centre for specific instructions or parts.

If the electronic functions of the mirror happen to be damaged, the wiring needs to be checked. The damaged wiring might cause issues like heating and more difficulty in adjustment. The glass if broken can be replaced with a new one by carefully unscrewing the broken mirror. To fix the new glass, you screw it back properly and ensure it clips properly, reconnect the loose wires and test all functions after repairs.
