There's a post already on Trailrivian on how to install an external drive for your gear guard. I found a good video and with the new Gen 2's and updated UI I figured I'd drop it here for anyone who wants a video walkthrough on installing an external drive and configuring for Gear Guard and Road Cam so they can see how long it takes and what to expect at each step of the process.
It's a great video and I’d recommend using a 90deg angled usb-c adapter to keep the cord from sticking straight out. There are two types of connectors I’m aware of - one is 90 deg down and one is 90deg to the side - I think the sideways 90 is best as it sort of routes the cord around the compartment.
