I usually charge my R1S with the Rivian charger, but yesterday I decided to try out my Tesla Wall Charger (after a long time) to see how it performs. After about 15-20 minutes, the charging speed dropped to 5.3 kW. I cleaned the port and cable, swapped adapters, and even reset the charger, but the issue persisted. The charger’s on a 60-amp breaker, professionally installed two years ago, and it’s been fine until recently. My Teslas charge at 48 amps (11 kW) without any problems.

I’ve got an electrician coming to check it out, but has anyone else run into this? I’m trying to figure out why the Tesla Wall Charger is acting up with my R1S. It worked great at first, but now it’s slowing down mid-charge. The setup hasn’t changed, and my Teslas are still charging perfectly. I’m wondering if it’s an adapter issue, a compatibility glitch, or something with the charger itself.

Anyone dealt with this kind of slowdown when using a Tesla charger with their Rivian? Any tips or ideas before the electrician digs in would be awesome.
