I've been looking for the best way in which to either repaint or cover with an adhesive film the decorative strip on the R1T's hitch cover, as the one I have now is scratched up, as shown in the picture above.
I showed it to a trusted old-school body shop and they just scratched their heads and said to buy a new one, which I don't want to do as I just bought this used panel on the cheap and knew it was scratched, but like I said it was CHEAP!
A new panel will cost well over $300 and I can't yet accept that it's unlikely to match the sheen and color of this with either paint or film.
By the way, the "Chrome" part of the trim panel is a simple unsnap-to-remove/re snap to reattach.
Can anyone recommend the best way to approach this (no comments on covering it with a bumper sticker plz, ha!)
For some reason, I feel like one of you might help me come up with the RIGHT answer that can help me out here. Professional opinions or any DIY opinions are all welcome.
