There was an incident that occured to me about 2 weeks back were I was trying to hang my head out of the window to be able to put my tires on a specific spot accurately. As soon as I lifted my butt out of the seat, the truck self parked.
There was no way to do what I needed. I tried opening the door and that also put it in park. I think other vehicles may give loud warnings, but let you do this (either one). I searched for a solution online and I discovered that a few other owners have experienced this as well. After a few days, I was able to find a solution.
Solution: Buckle your setbelt behind/under you, this way when you lift off the seat it doesn't shift in to park. It's a little uncomfortable, but it works for the short time you need to precision back up or park.
