So, unfortunately, my R1T decided to shutdown while crossing a busy intersection on Tuesday morning while going to work. I was part way through the intersection, starting to stop behind another car. Suddenly all bells and whistles went off, then a “critical battery alert” icon on driver’s display. Car went into park, doors unlocked. Couldn’t get into gear or move in any way. Immediately hit the SOS button and they connected me to Rivian service.

Service advisor Derrick Jones was incredibly helpful and empathetic. His first concern was getting me out of the busy intersection, but we tried to no avail. Tried several system resets and then my battery level went from 217 miles to 0!

Eventually the screens went dark. Full power failure. I was close to home so, my wife came down so I could go to work. 2.5 hours later a flatbed showed up and took my car to the service center (that didn’t make me happy). Waiting to hear what’s next. I love this truck and Rivian, but it didn't look good.

I know that part reason for this community is to learn and grow so, hopefully we (Rivian) learn something from this. I’ll follow up when I have more info.
