Owning a vehicle, one of the most important things to figure out is the right time to carry out a maintainance on your vehicle. This is because a proper maintainance procedure would aid for better performance and longevity. In this article, I'd be sharing the recommended warranty and maintainance procedure and interval period for Rivian owners. If you already have one that you use, then that's awesome. If you don't have one yet, then you could make use of this one.
WARRANTY - Coverage Highlights
Comprehensive -- 5yr or 60,000mi
Battery -- 8yr or 175,000mi
Drivetrain -- 8yr or 175,000mi
Corrosion -- 8yr with unlimited miles
MAINTENANCE INTERVALS
1. Tire Rotation and Multi-Point Inspection: every 7,500 mi (12,000 km)
2. Comprehensive Inspection: every 22,500 mi (36,000 km)
3. Brake Fluid Flush: every 36 months
4. Coolant Change: every 112,500 mi (180,000 km)
5. Drive Unit Fluid Change (Quad-Motor AWD vehicles only): every 112,500 mi (180,000 km)
1. TIRE ROTATION
Rotation of all 4 wheels and tires (rearward cross pattern).
1a. MULTI-POINT INSPECTION
Examines interior and exterior of the vehicle to ensure normal and safe operation and replaces parts if necessary. Covers the following and more:
Tire pressures and tread depth including spare (if equipped)
Brake pad and rotor thickness
Suspension wear and fastener torques including lug nuts
Vehicle windows for chips and cracks
Vehicle functions check
Windshield washer, brake fluid, and coolant level check
Windshield washer jets and wiper blades
2. COMPREHENSIVE INSPECTION
Includes all aspects of the Multi-Point Inspection, plus examination of the vehicle underside. Covers the following and more:
Air conditioning lines; Radiator for damage and collected debris; Low voltage system; Cabin air filter inspect and replace if needed; Underbody inspection including subframes; Suspension and driveshafts;
Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) functionality; Kinetic Anti-Roll system; Air suspension system
3. BRAKE FLUID FLUSH
Replaces the hydraulic brake fluid in the vehicle braking system. Includes bleed procedure on all 4 calipers.
4. COOLANT CHANGE
Drains and refills coolant using a vacuum procedure.
5. DRIVE UNIT FLUID CHANGE
Drains and refills Quad-Motor AWD drive units fluid. This procedure is unnecessary for Dual-Motor AWD vehicles as an integrated filter is monitored by the vehicle.
