About a month ago, I noticed an irritating rattle coming from the ceiling above the passenger seat in my Rivian R1S. It started after I had the rear window replaced because it had come loose and was making a loud buzzing noise. The service team replaced the top trim of my truck to fix the window issue, but soon after, this new rattle appeared near the passenger-side window.
At first, I thought the noise was coming from outside the vehicle or that I was just hearing the sound in my head and it wasn't there. After a while, the noise became too much, so I decided to observe my truck to determine if the noise was actually coming from inside the truck. I hadn't driven far when I realized that the noise was coming from inside my truck.
I immediately took my vehicle in for a service check, and the team said they had resolved the issue, but the rattling has been there still. I’m frustrated and still trying to figure out what’s causing it, but I haven’t found a solution yet. The noise is subtle but constant, and I’m determined to get to the bottom of it.
When I inspected the area, I pulled down the trim slightly and noticed something odd. The magnets that secure the trim on the passenger side look different from those on the driver’s side, where there’s no rattle.

On the passenger side, the magnet seems to sit higher or may lack a proper casing. I’m wondering if a loose casing or an extra magnet I found later could be the culprit behind the noise. I haven’t been able to confirm what’s causing it or how to fix it yet.
Has anyone else experienced this in their truck? I’m hoping to gather some insights before I take it back to the service center, as I’m still searching for a way to stop this annoying rattle.
