Following up on my post about Tonneau cover repair from two weeks ago. I had an outstanding, unexpected resolution. David R. the mobile service tech showed up on Friday at 4:20 exactly, the updated time Rivian Service gave me. He had left from the Chelsea Service Center very early that morning with his van absolutely chock full of parts including several sets of winter tires. I am five hours from the SC. His first stop was still asleep so he waited for her to respond. His second stop was for a hospital employee whom he also had to wait for. The life of a tech on the road.
I was his last stop I think, at least my parts were on the floor near the back door. The shock was that it was a complete NEW tonneau cover assembly! He didn't think there was another new one anywhere. Rivian is not replacing any until the redesign takes place. He was incredibly efficient and speedy but the disassembly and reinstall still took 2 hours 20 minutes. If was fascinating to see the bones of the truck after he removed the caps and sides of the bed, the t cover itself and the back seat. Complex. I can't say enough about this entire process, thank you all of Rivian......Give your service people a tip for good service.

I failed to take any pictures of the completed installation - too excited. But not does operate flawlessly so far - two complete cycles only.
