I left on a trip shortly before the latest update, so the fun winter holiday stuff was all waiting for me when I got home on the 30th. Naturally, I wanted to try out the new lock sound.

Is it just me, or does the "festive" jingle door lock sound like it belongs on the set of a horror movie? Every time I hear it I picture sharp knives and shower curtains.

I managed to tolerate it for a couple days, which was a couple days longer than I should have. If I had to use one word to describe it, that word would be creepy. It's not scary, per se, but it is downright creepy. Finally today I was done with it and it was back to the owl - which is so much nicer. Don't know if I'm the only one because I don't think I've seen any other posts about it, so maybe others like it but I don't think it's for me.

On the plus side, I don't feel like I missed out on a fun limited-time seasonal sound effect that arrived while I was out of town. This last weekend I was hanging out with my friends who have G1 R1Ts and they noticed the jingle is different for generations. For some reason the jingle sound is twice as long on G2? 4 jingles on gen 1, 8 on gen 2. Odd difference but good catch on their part I think.
